Gaspee endured a tireless entitlement and environmental clean up process all while managing multiple construction crews for multiple national credit tenants.
After a number of developers failed to execute on a redevelopment due to environmental concerns, the City of Woonsocket contacted us. Gaspee owned a property down the street that was set to be repurposed for retail, however, the local Boys and Girls Clubs (BGC) was in dire need of a new location and the building fit their needs. By working with multiple stakeholders, Gaspee began the process of diverting two successful nationally ranked tenants in (O’Reilly Auto Parts and Family Dollar) to the new Social Street site which made room for the relocation of BGC.
The plan required extensive coordination with BGC executives, multiple approvals from City officials while devising a complicated environmental mitigation program with the RI Depts of Environmental Management Transportation, all in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic.
